How Ask Kelly Came to Be
Have you ever been so caught up in routine that you forget life is full of endless opportunities? Like you’ve fallen into such a rhythm of simply surviving that each day feels more like something to get through rather than something to truly enjoy?
I know that feeling all too well. Every day felt like Groundhog Day—the endless cycle of motherhood, the pressure of performing at work, keeping the house in order, and attempting to fill tiny toddler bellies with something other than fruit snacks. Productivity and being needed gave me purpose, but they also created unhealthy habits. I was constantly glued to my phone and computer, juggling work and motherhood while prepping meals, planning activities, and keeping the laundry moving—yet, in the midst of all this, I was missing out on actually living in the moment.
But I couldn’t stop. I skipped meals, then binged whatever scraps my kids left behind so food wouldn’t go to waste. Sleep? A rarity—not because my toddlers don’t sleep, but because those precious post-bedtime hours were my only time to catch up: finishing work, tackling chores, prepping for the next day, or mindlessly scrolling while watching Gilmore Girls for the 500th time.
The Plot Twist That Changed Everything
On January 2, 2025, my entire world shifted. It sounds dramatic, but when you've been in survival mode for over two years, it is dramatic. After 11 years at the company that gave me my first job out of college, the owner decided to close the business, leaving me with just 30 days of employment left. I was shocked. Speechless. Sad. Angry. And oddly, ashamed—like it was somehow a reflection of me.
Which is crazy, because I poured everything into that job. I cared deeply about the company’s success, and I know I gave it my all. But still, the overwhelming feeling of personal failure crept in.
When I told my family and close friends, their immediate reaction was: "This is a blessing. It’s YOUR time to shine!"
And while I wanted to believe that, change—especially unexpected change—is terrifying. But here I am, embracing it, and creating my own path forward!
I've always loved designing and bringing ideas to life, so I decided to lean hard into my creative passion and launch my Etsy shop, Ask Kelly Creations. From invitations and party essentials to branding and marketing materials, I specialize in turning visions into reality.
So, Who Is Kelly Behind Ask Kelly?
I’m so glad you asked!
I’m a 30-something mom of two incredibly energetic toddlers, Luca and Mila, and a fur mama to two teacup Yorkies, Lola and Jiggy. I married the love of my life in a backyard Coronavirus wedding surrounded by close family, and looking back, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Our home in North Jersey was built by my grandfather in 1951—it’s where my mom grew up, it’s where I have cherished childhood memories, and now it’s where I’m raising my own family, customizing every inch to fit our needs.
I have 10+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer, Creative Production Manager, and Social Media Manager, and I love what I do. Creativity is in my DNA, and it’s hard to get me off my laptop! If you love Gilmore Girls, Friends, Bravo shows, or the New York Rangers, congrats—you just found your new best friend.
